1. Vienna 2003 / Gabarage
Intervention for the creation of job opportunities for former drug addicts

Within the framework of a 12-weeks intervention the artists group WochenKlausur establishes an upcycling-workshop: This workshop with selling opportunities aims at giving to those who have finished a long-term therapy for drug addicts the opportunity to gain access to the labour market through useful, creative and practical work. The workshop repairs old, disused goods and materials and uses them in new, sometimes different ways. These goods are then sold again.

Target group: Former inpatients of long-term therapy programmes for drug addicts, who have difficulties to integrate into the first labour market and who should not enter the second labout market due to the danger of relapse in case of lacking demand / requirements.

2. Graz 2003 / sinnlos
Intervention for the creation of individual occupational fields for mentally handicapped people

Starting from the assumption that the deficits of people with severe mental problems can be lessened through appropriate communication, through motivation and active or passive occupation, the Viennese artists group WochenKlausur wants to bring mentally handicapped people in touch with manifold and altered occupations. It is the aim of the initiative to enhance the self-esteem and to increase the joy of life of the clients through individual occupation and stimulation programmes.

During the preparatory phase contacts will be established with relevant inititatives and caretaking programmes in Graz. In interviews / conversations different experiences and ideas will be discussed, how the clients can be supported in gaining access to individual occupations, works and fun. Then, institutions, companies, university institutes, interest groups, expert groups and privately interested individuals will be located and engaged within a network as partners. They should commit themselves to participate from time to time as experts in occupation / works programmes. The project depends on the variety of contacts and must not become an "island".

In a first model subsequently chosen occupation / work projects are offered to the relevant institutions and implemented. Afterwards, a continuously working agency is to be established, wich takes care of projects, commissions and ideas as well as of participants / employees and experts.
